When destruction is the right call
- Brand protection. Your name is moulded into the bottle or printed on the cage and you need those containers off the market.
- Product recall. The containers are part of the recall scope and must be provably gone.
- Indefensible residue. The prior contents make reuse a risk nobody sane would accept, whatever a wash certificate says.
- Contractual obligation. Your customer's agreement requires it, full stop.
Destroyed is not the same as landfilled
This is the part people miss. Destruction removes containers from circulation; it does not require burying them. Once destroyed, the material goes through the same recycling streams as any other end-of-life tote — around 94% recovered by mass. You get the compliance outcome and the environmental one.
The certificate
Numbered, dated, and listed serial by serial rather than by count. A certificate that says “40 containers destroyed” is not evidence of anything. One that lists forty serial numbers is.
